Include your device model, iOS, iPadOS or macOS version, SendSmall version, the step that failed and the exact error. Original size, video duration and selected target can help. Please start without private documents or videos; do not send passwords or sensitive content.
Will every video fit the target?
No. A very small target may be unsuitable for the full video and its audio. SendSmall measures the result and identifies an over-limit output. Try a larger size and preview the new copy.
What does a custom MB limit mean?
SendSmall uses decimal MB: 1 MB is 1,000,000 bytes. Custom targets range from 0.1 to 2,000 MB. The form shows the exact byte equivalent before you apply it.
What happens to the original?
Your original is not changed. SendSmall imports a working copy. Already-fitting videos are copied in their original format; other successful exports are H.264 MP4.
Why did the picture or color change?
Compression can reduce resolution, quality and frame rate. HDR becomes standard color. Check the preview and choose a larger target if the result needs more detail.
Why can’t I import this video?
Some media, including videos with multiple video or audio tracks, are unsupported. Try a standard MOV or MP4 or export a compatible copy. A cloud item may need a connection before Photos or Files can download it.
Can I cancel or change the video?
Yes. Cancel an import or export, or open the replacement chooser and use Keep current video to keep the existing input and latest successful result.
Where do finished videos go?
Use Share video to choose Files, Photos when offered, or another destination. The prepared Mac version also offers Save Video Copy. Working inputs and results are temporary and can be removed when you successfully create another result, replace or reset the workflow, or next launch the app. Save a copy you need to keep first. Saved copies stay at their chosen destinations; the original source is not changed. There is no automatic cross-device workflow or video sync. To move a finished video, save or share that file and open the independent copy on the other device.
Why did an export stop or fail?
Keep the app open for long exports. Free storage is needed for working copies and output. On iPhone or iPad, the operating system can interrupt work when the app is backgrounded or closed. On Mac, compression can continue when you switch apps; keep SendSmall running and the Mac awake until it finishes. Use the recovery offered, such as a larger target, another video, retry or storage guidance.
How does the dedicated Mac version work?
The dedicated Mac version is in preparation for macOS 14 or later. In that version, choose Open Video or Video → Open Video (Command-O), choose a target and Compress Video, then preview the measured result. Save Video Copy (Command-S) saves a new file to your chosen destination. Share Video is a separate system action. Always save a result you need to keep before creating another result or replacing or resetting the workflow.
See the iPhone & iPad App Store listing for current pricing and availability. The dedicated Mac version is in preparation; no Mac release date is announced.
